Stone Base - Crab Orchard Stone
Crab Orchard stone is a type of sandstone that is uniquely hard and weather-resistant due to its high silica content. It is only found on the Cumberland Plateau and has distinctive colors such as buff, tan, blue-gray, and pink which are created by a blend of iron, titanium, and magnesium. Additionally, the stone has yellow and brown swirls resulting from natural weathering and iron stains, giving it a distinct appearance.
